Miracles Requires Obedience
We want to see great things happen but we aren't willing to step out and obey what the Lord has asked us to do. This blind man had to just trust the Lord even though it probably did not make sense, when we come to the end of ourselves and realize that there is not anything we can do. He is there ready to intercede on our behalf but He can only help you when you are ready and willing to obey.
"And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay, And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing." John 9:1-7
No matter how petty it may seem we must always obey the Lord. I can't think of one miracle that didn't require someone to obey the Lord. It may not make sense, it may sound ridiculous, but it doesn't matter. If He has asked you to do it, He will remain faithful. The problem is not with the Lord, it is with our lack of faith. You see we don't trust in the Lord, all He asks us to do is take the small steps of faith so that he can do the impossible. Why is that so hard? Is it because of our pride we think we know better than the King of Kings? I don't think so! We hinder His work in our lives and diminish our impact on the world when we choose not to rely on His perfect will. He wants to use us to impact the world for Him, but unless we take a step of faith even when it doesn't make sense, He will work through our weakness to make something great that will bring Him glory.
He doesn't leave us blind, He shows us the light so that we can realize our need for our Savior.
Jesus doesn't just leave, but he returns to make sure that we truly understand that he is the one that creates, makes, and performs miracles. So that His name might be heard and proclaimed among the nations! That many might be saved because of what you allowed the Lord to do in your life.
He loves us to much to leave us where we are, so he willingly gave his life so that we might be free in Christ.
Let him show His power through your weakness! Will you obey?
